JORHAT, Feb 6: Members of the Congress party staged a protest in front of the SBI branch here against alleged financial irregularities committed by the Adani Group companies.
The protesters, including many women holding party flags and banners, shouted slogans against the Adani Group, the Prime Minister and the Central Government for the alleged financial anomalies committed by the tycoon’s group for which stock market had been reportedly hit adversely.
The protesters have sought the Central Government should institute a high-level inquiry into the alleged irregularities committed by the Adani Group that reportedly led to loss of Central Government PSUs in the stock market.
The demonstration was staged by the Jorhat district Congress unit as per direction of the APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) and the AICC (All India Congress Committee).
