APDCL Employee Dies Due To Electrocution

MARGHERITA, April 3: One Samsul Rehman aged about 48 years and employee of Assam Power Distribution Company limited, Margherita died due to electrocution on Sunday during duty hours at 1 no. lazum near Margherita civil hospital.

According to sources Samsul Rehman son of Late Abdul Ali an employee of Assam Power Distribution Company limited (APDCL) Margherita was a very simple, honest and down to earth person. On Sunday when he went to repair a transformer of 11KV situated at 1 no. Lazum near Margherita civil hospital died at the spot due to electrocution.

Many question came to fore as at the time of duty deceased Samsul Rehman disconnected the power of APDCL control room but unfortunately one of his colleague switched on the main connection leaving Rehman electrocuted.

Margherita police reached at the spot and sent the deceased’s body to post mortem at Tinsukia civil hospital.

The death of Samsul Rehman an APDCL employee of Margherita during the month of Holy Ramadan saddened locals and well wishers.

Meanwhile a special team of APDCL reached at APDCL Margherita to conduct a survey of the untimely death of APDCL employee Samsul Rehman.
