JORHAT, April 6: Mystery shrouds the death of a truck driver whose blood stained body was found near the truck he was driving at the Malow Ali area of the bypass around 8 am, on Thursday. Police said that the body has been identified as that of Sarvesh Kumar of Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Police said that information had been received that a body had been found besides the bypass, and accordingly a GDE was made and a team was rushed to the site where the body was lying.
The police sources said that slight bleeding was seen from his mouth and some injury marks were found on his body and that the truck was parked there.
Preliminary enquiry revealed that on Wednesday night the deceased had consumed alcohol along with two drivers at the place but that now the said drivers were no longer present. The police sources said that two drivers identified the body and they stated that, the name of the deceased was Sarvesh Kumar, son of Ramnaresh of Thariyon village, District Fatehpur, UP.
Police said that members of the deceased have been informed and the inquest over the body had been done by magistrate and the body sent to JMCH for post mortem examination.
No case has been registered yet.
One of the truck drivers who had identified the body said that his and the truck driven by Sarvesh had halted for the night at the area to offload goods for a shopping mall in Jorhat at a godown about 1km away from the site.
