Tezpur Based Mental Health Institute Observes Swachhta Pakhwada

TEZPUR, April 18: Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health, Tezpur observed the Swachhta Pakhwada from April 1 to April 15 to accelerate the efforts to achieve universal sanitation coverage and put the focus on sanitation.

The Prime Minister of India had launched the Swachh Bharat Mission on October 2, 2014 is being observed in the year 2023 with slogan “Cleanliness should not be foreseen for it brings hygiene. Let’s make the right choice and use a dustbin. Go Green keep this planet green. India can do it.”

Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health   , Tezpur observed the Swachhta Pakhwada during the period with various activities in the institute. Swachhata awareness programme among patients and guardians attending OPD clinics by the department of psychiatry , discussion regarding BMW , colour code of dustbin , handling , segregation and disposal at geriatric ward , oral hygiene for patients and caregivers of missionaries of charity , Tezpur by the department of Nursing , faculty members and students of Clinical Psychology giving information regarding the importance of cleanliness , workshop on step of hand washing and cleanliness conducted by staff nurse, essay writing competition , banner / poster display in the wards ,painting competitions etc . In the closing ceremony held on Sunday, the administrative officer elaborated on its importance and activities performed by the Institute. The deputy director Dr Hemanta Datta mentioned briefly the various activities performed by the various departments.
