KOKRAJHAR, May 12: Chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and UPPL president, Pramod Boro made a maiden visit to No 5 Soraibil constituency under Gossaigaon sub-division in Kokrajhar district that took stock about the ongoing construction of government schemes and other developmental activities in the area.
During the visit, Boro was accompanied by BTR executive members, Reoreoa Narzihary, Wilson Hasda, Ukil Mushahary, Ghanashyam Das, MLA from Gossaigaon LAC, Jiron Basumatary, ex MLA Hemendra Nath Brahma, senior government officials representing different departments of BTC government including secretaries.
Boro visited various villages including Hudumkata, Dhawliguri, Borobadha under Soraibil constituency and took stock about the ongoing construction of government schemes which included PMAY, Awas Plus Yojana and interacted with scheme beneficiaries in their respective areas.
A public hearing programme on the welfare and development activities carried out by BTR government which was also held at Boshgaon Soraibil Community Hall amidst huge presence of common citizens and government officials.
The programme was attended by representatives of SHGs & NGOs, farmers, gaon burahs, local party members of alliance partners, chairman & vice-chairman of TCLCC s & VCDCs, and senior officials of P&RD, Education, PHE, Health & Agriculture department of Bodoland Territorial Region government.
Boro visited a dragon fruit cultivation farm at Dhawliguri Gossaigaon and inspected the agricultural infrastructure, facilities and production.
CEM Boro also visited Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Jolaishri, Kachugaon and the vidyalaya’s authority and students.
An intellectual meet was also organised at SS Market complex in Gossaigaon town on Friday evening.
Senior citizens, social activists and leading citizens of Gossaigaon town and its adjoining areas participated in the meet.
The meet programme discussed deeply on the development and uplifting of Gossaigaon town and led a fruitful discussion.
CEM Boro has opined on focusing on the programme as the continued development and progress of the constituency and the welfare of the common citizens. He said that the BTR government has prioritised good governance at all levels, which has greatly boosted the growth of Bodoland region with initiation of innovative schemes as BTR government is working tirelessly for the holistic development of Bodoland region.
“It is a glad moment to chair a constituency visit programme and public hearing at No 5 Soraibil BTC constituency. The focus of the programme is continued development and progress of the constituency and the welfare of the citizens. The BTR government has prioritised good governance at all levels which has greatly boosted the growth of our BTR. Through innovative initiatives and schemes, our government is working tirelessly for the holistic development of BTR,” Boro said, adding that the BTR government is committed to work for all round development and welfare of the society.
He has appealed to all citizens of the society to come forward for bringing healthy development of the region.
