ITANAGAR, July 29: Arunachal Pradesh BJP President Kaling Moyung has called upon party leaders across the state to gear up for the upcoming local body elections by nominating candidates who are dedicated, hardworking, and committed to public service.

His appeal came during a public interaction and coordination programme held at Maryiang in Upper Siang district recently.

According to an official statement issued after the event, Moyung stressed that the BJP is fully prepared for any electoral challenge and that the selection of grassroots candidates should reflect the party’s core values of integrity and public service.

Addressing media persons, the state BJP chief shared that since assuming charge, he has toured various parts of Arunachal Pradesh and held detailed interactions with party leaders and karyakartas to assess the organisation’s readiness and reach.

He said that during these visits, he received valuable inputs from party workers and acknowledged their efforts at the grassroots level.

Moyung stated that he has instructed Mandal Presidents, Booth Level Committees (BLCs), Panna Pramukhs, and Morcha heads to intensify their outreach and engage directly with voters.

He urged all leaders to carry the party flag to even the remotest villages, connect with individual households, and spread awareness about the developmental initiatives and welfare schemes introduced by both the central and state governments under BJP leadership.

He emphasised that this grassroots contact is essential for maintaining the party’s growing popularity and ensuring electoral success.

Referring to areas where the BJP currently lacks elected MLAs or Zilla Parishad Members, Moyung advised party workers to proactively begin groundwork and build organisational strength.

He further urged that nominations for Zilla Parishad and Gram Panchayat seats must be made with care, favouring sincere and capable individuals who can serve the people diligently.

He added that wherever possible, the party should avoid internal conflict during candidate selection by involving all stakeholders in the decision-making process and ensuring consensus.

The BJP President also stressed that in cases where a single aspirant emerges as the natural choice, the nomination should be made in consultation with all concerned to ensure unity and smooth campaigning. He reiterated that all candidates—whether new or experienced—must be loyal to the party and uphold its principles, delivering their duties with honesty and dedication if elected.

The official statement concluded by reaffirming the BJP’s commitment to strengthening grassroots democracy in Arunachal Pradesh and highlighted the importance of the upcoming local body polls as a platform to empower sincere party workers and extend the reach of governance to every corner of the state.
