ITANAGAR, Aug 13: As part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt General KT Parnaik (Retd), distributed the National Flag to officials and staff of the Raj Bhavan in a programme held at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.
According to an official statement, the campaign, being observed across the country, seeks to inspire every household to hoist the tricolour with pride and honour, turning the act into a collective expression of patriotism. It is aimed at fostering a deep sense of unity among citizens and encouraging them to display the national emblem as a tribute to the spirit of the nation.
While presenting the flags, the Governor called upon all to nurture the spirit of nationalism and unity in their day-to-day lives.
He encouraged the staff to proudly display the National Flag at their homes during the campaign period, describing the initiative as not just a symbolic act, but a festival of the Tiranga—a celebration of India’s unity in diversity and a heartfelt tribute to the ideals of the nation.
He reminded those present that the true honour of the flag lies not merely in hoisting it high, but in upholding its values of patriotism, unity, and brotherhood through everyday conduct.
“The tricolour represents the sacrifices, struggles, and aspirations of our people, and we must ensure that it remains a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come,” the Governor was quoted as saying.
The Governor also appealed to the Raj Bhavan staff to maintain cleanliness in and around their homes, stressing that a clean environment reflects civic responsibility and complements the ideals represented by the national flag.
The statement added that the Governor had inaugurated the ‘Tiranga Mahotsav’ the previous day, marking the beginning of a series of programmes in the run-up to Independence Day.
These events are intended to strengthen patriotic fervour and encourage public participation in nation-building.
