Arunachal: Phase–I election training for presiding and polling officers held

ITANAGAR, Nov 28: Phase–I Election Training for Presiding Officers and Polling Officers for the upcoming Itanagar Municipal Election 2025 was conducted today at Siddhartha Hall, Gompa Mandir.

The training aimed to strengthen the preparedness of polling personnel by providing clarity on their roles, responsibilities, legal powers, and procedures essential for ensuring a smooth, fair and transparent polling process. Officers were briefed on election protocols, polling station management, and the guidelines issued by the State Election Commission.

Shri Sougata Maity, Master Trainer (EVM), explained the functioning and handling of the Electronic Voting Machine.

The programme was led by Shri Khoda Lasa, APCS, Assistant Commissioner (Election), who underlined the crucial responsibility of Presiding Officers in maintaining voting secrecy, preventing malpractice, and ensuring the conduct of a free and fair poll.

A total of 541 polling officials took part in the training programme.
