CM Pema Khandu and others mourn passing of former minister Taba Tedir’s mother

NAHARLAGUN, Sept 8: Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and several political and social organisations expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences following the passing of Taba Yaja, mother of former Education Minister Taba Tedir.

She passed away on Sunday morning at a private hospital in Naharlagun.

Born in 1935, Taba Yaja lived a life marked by dignity, compassion, and kindness.

Her passing has left a void among family members, friends, and the community, as people remember her as a source of wisdom and love.

In an official condolence message, chief minister Pema Khandu said, “I am deeply pained to learn about the demise of Smt. Taba Yaja Ji, revered mother of former Minister Shri Taba Tedir. In this hour of profound sorrow, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Shri Taba Tedir Ji and the entire bereaved family. May the departed soul attain Sadgati, and may Lord bless the family with strength and courage to bear this immense loss.”

Deputy chief minister Chowna Mein also paid tribute, stating, “I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing away of Smti Taba Yaja, mother of former Minister Taba Tedir. I pay my sincere condolences to the grieving family in the event of this irreparable loss. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace and may the Almighty grant strength, comfort, and resilience to the family in this difficult time.”

The Tebw Lappa Welfare Society (TLWS) joined in mourning, describing her as a guiding light for the community.

The TLWS condolence message read, “With deep sorrow, the TLWS mourns the passing away of our beloved Late Taba That Tebw (Retd PI) of Yazali in Keyi Panyor District. In this moment of grief, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Taba Tedir, former Minister and Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (APEDA), and the entire bereaved family. May her noble soul rest in eternal peace, and may the Almighty grant strength and solace to the family to bear this irreparable loss.”

The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), Arunachal Pradesh, and its affiliated unions also paid their respects.

Their message stated, “She was the mother of Shri Taba Tedir, Former Education Minister, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, and Chairman, APEDA. She passed away on September 7, 2025, at a private hospital in Naharlagun at around 2:40 am. We pray to the Almighty God (Ane Donyi) for her departed soul to rest in peace and for the strengthening of the bereaved family members during this time of sorrow.”

Leaders, social organisations, and well-wishers across the state have expressed their heartfelt sympathies, praying for the departed soul to attain Sadgati and for divine strength to support the bereaved family.

The collective grief underscores the deep respect and affection Smt. Taba Yaja inspired throughout her life.
