PASIGHAT, July 23: The bereaved family of Late Karan Guwala, who tragically drowned at the Sirki Waterfall in East Siang district recently, has extended deep gratitude to all individuals, organisations, and officials who stood by them and actively participated in the challenging search and recovery operation.
In an official statement issued on Wednesday, Pritam Chettry, speaking on behalf of the Guwala family, expressed appreciation for the collective support extended during their time of grief and distress, particularly for the efforts made to locate and recover the body of Late Karan Guwala from the rugged terrain surrounding the waterfall.
“We are overwhelmed by the selfless support and tireless efforts of so many who came together during this tragic time. Each of you played an irreplaceable role in our most painful moments, and your compassion and commitment will forever remain etched in our hearts,” the statement read.
The family specifically thanked Superintendent of Police, East Siang, for his prompt coordination and dedicated leadership during the search operation.
Acknowledging the continuous assistance extended by the local administration, the family expressed their gratitude to the MLA of Pasighat for personally monitoring and supporting the efforts throughout the period.
The statement also lauded the Officer-in-Charge and the entire police team for their ground-level involvement and persistence during the operation.
The Indian Army was commended for its brave and selfless contribution under difficult conditions, while the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was appreciated for deploying skilled personnel and resources in the inaccessible and treacherous terrain of Sirki Point.
“The terrain posed serious challenges, but the courage and commitment shown by all involved gave us hope when we needed it the most,” Chettry added, praising the resilience of the search teams.
Alongside official agencies, the family also acknowledged the unwavering support of extended relatives, friends, and the Gorkha Samaj of Pasighat, whose solidarity and emotional strength offered immense comfort to the grieving family.
In concluding the statement, Chettry said, “At this moment of profound sorrow, we are humbled by the love and strength shared by the community. Words can never fully express the gratitude we feel. On behalf of our family, we offer our sincerest thanks to each one of you. Your solidarity has brought us strength, and we will remain forever grateful.”
