NAMSAI, June 17: In a touching display of public service and trust-building, the Namsai District Police, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Shri Sange Thinley, organized a heartfelt event as part of the ongoing initiative “Aapka Phone, Aap Tak” on Monday. During the programme, a total of 26 recovered mobile phones were formally handed over to their rightful owners.

Held at the Namsai Police Station premises, the event was attended by beneficiaries, police personnel, and members of the local community. The atmosphere was filled with smiles and gratitude as citizens, many of whom had lost hope of recovering their stolen or misplaced devices, received their phones back.

SP Sange Thinley, while addressing the gathering, highlighted that the initiative was more than just about returning gadgets—it was about restoring trust, ensuring accountability, and reinforcing the public’s confidence in the police force. “Each returned phone is a reminder that the police are here to serve and support our people in every possible way,” he said.

The “Aapka Phone, Aap Tak” initiative is part of the Namsai Police’s broader mission towards transparent and citizen-centric policing, where emphasis is placed on empathy, quick action, and proactive outreach. The recovered devices had been traced and retrieved through dedicated efforts by the district’s Cyber Cell and Investigative Teams.

The recipients, visibly moved by the gesture, expressed their deep appreciation to the police department. Several beneficiaries shared personal anecdotes of how much the lost phones meant to them, not just in terms of monetary value but for the important data and memories stored in them.

The police also used the occasion to encourage the public to promptly report lost or stolen mobile phones at their nearest police stations. Citizens were briefed on how timely reporting and cooperation can significantly improve the chances of recovery, and were introduced to digital platforms and helplines available for lodging complaints.

This initiative, which continues to gain traction across the district, is a shining example of how technology, community partnership, and compassionate policing can come together to deliver meaningful outcomes.
