NAMSAI, June 10: A free health camp was organized by Siang Trust on Sunday at Bizari village in Lower Dibang Valley District, extending much-needed medical services to the residents of this remote area.
A team of medical professionals participated in the camp, including Urologist Kapang Yirang, Ophthalmologist Dr. Ponung Perme, Dental Surgeon Dr. Karma Pait, Dr. Anuari Ering, Retired Additional Director Dr. Saibal Bhattacharjee, and Retired Joint Director Dr. Runi Tasung, along with other medical and support staff.
The initiative was led by Captain Mohonto Panging Pao, VM (Retd.), President of Siang Trust, along with several members and representatives of the NGO. Community support came from local Gaon Burahs (GBs), the village secretary, and village elders, who played a key role in organizing the camp.
During the camp, a total of 165 patients, including many senior citizens, were examined. The services provided included free blood pressure and blood sugar tests, medical consultations, and the distribution of free medicines.
According to a press release from Siang Trust, the organization plans to conduct similar health camps in other remote villages of the region to enhance healthcare accessibility for underserved populations.
