ITANAGAR, July 20: Businessman and social worker Ha Tatu on Sunday urged citizens to serve society selflessly, without waiting for rewards or recognition.

Speaking at a large prayer gathering at the Second Coming Christian Prayer Centre (SCCPC) in Virup Si, Sekar Dokap Colony under Ward No 11 near 6 Kilo in the capital city, Tatu encouraged attendees to work for the greater interest of society, humanity, and mankind.

The remarks were made while Tatu was addressing hundreds of Christian believers as the chief guest at the SCCPC prayer service.

According to an official release, the event was attended by several eminent personalities and members of the Christian community from across the city.

“We are God-fearing people and we believe in God,” Tatu said. “What we are doing are acts of God. It does not matter which faith we belong to, but our actions must always serve the public good, humanity, and mankind. What we do on this earth will be remembered by others, so let our actions benefit others and not harm them,” he added.

Underscoring the importance of values in everyday life, Tatu emphasized the significance of three ‘S’ – Shanti (peace), Shakti (strength), and Safalta (success).

He called on people to promote peaceful coexistence, communal harmony, and brotherhood.

“Carry forward your duties with a sense of responsibility, and in time, recognition and respect will follow,” he said.

In a gesture of support to the prayer centre, Tatu also donated a diesel generator (DG) set to ensure uninterrupted power supply during electricity shutdowns and power cuts.

The contribution, he said, was meant to help ensure that prayer services and community gatherings could continue without disruption.

The event also saw the presence of Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Ward No 11 Member Tarh Gida, who was the guest of honour.

Gida called for community cooperation and unity for the all-round development of the area and the state. He assured full support to the SCCPC and its team for future initiatives.

The function was also addressed by organising chairman Rughu Thomas, SCCPC founder Charu Menye Joram, and Speaker Pastor Joram Khoda, who extended their gratitude to the guests and congregants for their presence and blessings.

Earlier in the day, Ha Tatu, along with dignitaries, inaugurated a new welcome gate near the old Toyota dealership at 6 Kilo along National Highway-415.

The gate, accompanied by multiple road signage along the approach road, serves as a marker and guide for devotees and visitors to the SCCPC located deeper inside Sekar Dokap Colony.

The official release stated that the event was marked by prayers, sermons, and messages of harmony, and concluded with a pledge by the community to work collectively for the betterment of society.
