3000 teams from Nagaon to participate in Khel Maharan

NAGAON, Oct 30: The last review meeting in respect of
Nagaon district for the upcoming Khel Maharan which is
scheduled to be commenced from November 1, 2023 across
the state was held on Monday at the conference hall of the

district commissioner’s office, Nagaon. The meeting was
chaired by DC Narendra Kr Shah.
At the very begining, addressing the meeting additional
district commissioner (Sports) Lakshya Jyoti Das took stock of
the preparation status and issues related to team formations,
field preparation, and distribution process of sports
equipment among others.
District sports officer Manash Protim Das informed that
Nagaon ensured more than 3000 teams by now and on
November 1, 2023 competitions under Khel Maharan are to
be held in 24 Gaon Panchayats of the district. He also
informed that from November 1, 2023 to November 15, 2023
the Gaon Panchayat/Urban Local Body level competitions are
to be held in 172 Gaon Panchayats and 4 Urban Local Bodies
of the district as per schedule already prepared by the
concerned authority. District commissioner Narendra Kumar
Shah asked the cooperation of every line departments along
with the nodal department for successful organising of the
event and termed it as a collective effort to bring out hidden
sporting talents of the district.
Chief executive officer of Nagaon Zilla Parishad Ananta
Kumar Gogoi, block development officers, district
information and public relations officer of Nagaon, physical
instructors of District Sports Office, joint secretary of
Nowgong Sports Association Ujjal Baruah, executive member
of Nowgong Sports Association Gauri Sankar Roy along with
other concerned officials of district administration and
District Sports Office were present in the meeting, a press
note stated here.
