Guwahati, Nov 04:Assam Police seized 309.78 kilograms of cannabis valued at around ₹3 crore during an operation in Udalguri district. The consignment was intercepted by personnel from Mazbat Police Station, leading to the arrest of two individuals linked to the case.
The seizure forms part of Assam Police’s ongoing crackdown on narcotics smuggling across the state. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to X to praise the police team’s action, posting, “Roses are red, violets are blue, if you are doing illegal substances, @assampolice will catch YOU!”
He added that the team’s success highlighted the state’s firm stance against the trade of illegal drugs.
Police said that a detailed probe has begun to trace the supply route and uncover possible connections with regional trafficking networks.
