4th Annual Shri Shri Mahavishnu Yagna begins from March 7

GUWAHATI, Dec 22: In the spirit of “Bahu Jana Sukhaya Bahu Jana Hitaya” (For the happiness and welfare of many), preparations have commenced for the 4th Annual Shri Shri Mahavishnu Yagna at the sacred Ashwaklanta Temple, an official statement said on Sunday.

A public meeting was held under the chairmanship of Daloi Lakheswar Sharma were various key decisions were made to ensure the successful execution of the Mahavishnu Yagna.

“It was decided that the three-day Yagna will take place from March 7 to 9,” Daloi said.

An organising committee was also formed for the event with Himanta Biswa Sarma and Riniki Bhuyan Sarma as the chief patron; Kamrup deputy commissioner Dev Kumar Mishra as the chairman; and Hemanta Choudhury, the chief minister’s special duty officer, as the working president.

The vice presidents are Ranjit Bhattacharya, Dr Bishnuram Nunicha, and Pranjit Deka, with Daloi Lakheswar Sharma as the general secretary and Akhil Bhattacharya as the joint secretary.

Additional joint secretaries Ashok Sharma and Bhaskar Hazarika, along with publicity secretary Mukuteswar Goswami, have also been selected. Dilip Sharma will oversee the Yagna Mandap (Yagna Pavilion).

The committee has also formed sub-committees to handle food, hospitality, medical services, transportation, and cultural activities, ensuring a well-organised celebration.

The Yagna will conclude on March 9 with a grand Purnahuti (final offering) after 51,500 oblations, marking the completion of the 4th annual Mahavishnu Yagna.
