AASU Mukali Bihu To Be Held On April 16

SIVASAGAR, April 13: AASU Mukali Bihu, organised by Sivasagar Jila Chatra Santha in association with Sivasagar Mahkuma Chatra Santha, Sivasagar Anchalik Chatra Santha, and the people of the town, will be held at the Boarding Field on April 16 with a day-long programme. Manob Hazarika, president, Jila Chatra Santha, and Naren Chetia, president of the organising committee will hoist the flag. Dipankar Saikia, secretary, Jila Chatra Santha will offer the tributes while the Bihu function will be inaugurated by Samiran Phukan, executive committee member, AASU central committee. Megha Nidhi Dahal, DC Sivasagar will be the chief guest in the open meeting along with Uddipjyoti Gogoi, adviser, AASU. The souvenir ‘Gomseng’ will be released by Dr Dhrubajyoti Nath, principal, Namti SPP College. The cultural programme in the evening will be inaugurated by Sankarjyoti Baruah, general secretary, AASU and will be attended among others by the new Sivasagar SP Subhrajit Bora.  Barnali Kalita will be the star attraction of the cultural evening.

The Thanamukh Sanmilita Bihu, organised by Sivasagar Yuva Chatra Samaj will be held on April 17. Pranob Kumar Das noted social worker and the chief adviser of the committee will hoist the Bihu flag. The sapling plantation will be initiated by Mukul Ahom, president, organising committee. The Bihu function will be attended among others by Manoj Kr Borthakur, president, Brihattar Sivasagar Press Club; Ratan Saikia, social worker; Anil Gupta, working president, Brihattar Sivasagar Press Club; Basanta Gogoi, executive president, All Tai Ahom Satra Santha; Sringkhal Chaliha, organising secretary, Bir Lachit Sena, Assam;  Chitu Baruah, president, Jatiya Sangrami Sena; Ankur Gogoi, president, Bir Lachit Sena, Sivasagar; Anupal Das, secretary, BJP Yuva Morcha; Ratu Kumar Das, journalist and other dignitaries. Plaban Bhunya will perform in the cultural function in the evening.
