GUWAHATI, Oct 18: Additional District Commissioner (Education) Antara Sen delivered an inspiring and reflective speech at the valedictory session of the five-day zonal-level Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) residential training held at the Ellora Hotel auditorium on Friday.
Sharing her personal educational experiences, Sen contrasted the rote learning of earlier times with today’s interactive and child-centric approach. She highlighted how the focus has now shifted to nurturing curiosity, creativity and critical thinking in early learners through activity-based and experiential learning.

Encouraging the 66 participating educators from Cachar, Hailakandi and Sribhumi, she urged them to carry forward the training’s values to grassroots levels. “Let every teacher become a catalyst of transformation, ensuring that no child, especially from marginalised communities, is left behind,” she said.
Sen praised the efforts of the district education department and Samagra Shiksha, Cachar, for organising the event in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020 and National Curriculum Framework for the Foundational Stage 2022.
The event featured engaging sessions by key resource persons and concluded with a class demonstration competition and cultural performances, highlighting the practical essence of ECCE methods.
