Adivasis Protest Neglect Of Nilip Area

BOKAJAN, May 16: With the election to KAAC round the corner, the Adivasis are protesting against the alleged neglect of Nilip area by the BJP-ruled Council.

Assam Tea Tribe Students Association (ATTSA) staged a protest at Bogijan Tea Estate, under 25 Nilip MAC Constituency.

The ATTSA said that the BJP has done nothing during its five-year term in Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).

The president of Nilip branch of ATTSA, Robert Tanti said, “The BJP has done no development and did not fulfill its promises. The JJM project is completed in Bogijan TE but till now not a drop of potable water is seen. MAC, Pabitra Rongpi has promised a road and cultural hall but there is no sign of it after 5 years.”

Nilip sub branch president of ATTSA, Pawan Urang; secretary Sanjib Kumar Paik; advisor Robert Tanti and Premson Kumar said there is no development to be seen in Nilip and there will be no vote for the BJP sans development from the Adivasis.
