AGS Biswanath holds inaugural executive meeting

BISWANATH CHARIALI, July 15: The first extended executive meeting of the newly formed district committee of Assam Gorkha Sammelan (AGS) in Biswanath district was convened at the AGS office premises under the chairmanship of Hari Prasad Sarma. The meeting commenced with the lighting of earthen lamps in front of the portrait of Adi Kabi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya by the dignitaries. Dr Khemraj Nepal, a distinguished writer and lexicographer, graced the occasion as the keynote speaker, highlighting the life and literary contributions of Adi Kabi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya.

The meeting was attended by prominent members including Chabilal Sarma, Dipak Gajuerl, Dipa Chetry, Arun Bhattarai, Mahendra Basnet, Shiva Prasad Gewali, Binod Khanal, Tikaram Sarma, Pradip Luitel, Loknath Shastrty, Rajesh Bulan, Gangaram Dhakal, along with representatives from various AGS branches and regional committees in Biswanath. Newly appointed office bearers of the Biswanath district committee of AGS took their oath of office during the meeting. Several organisational resolutions were adopted, and the proceedings were conducted by Hemanta Bhattarai, secretary of the Biswanath district AGS.
