Tezpur, July 18: In an effort to address the aftermath of the recent floods and promote animal well-being, KVK Sonitpur, in collaboration with the District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Office Sonitpur, organised a comprehensive animal health camp and awareness program on Monday. The event took place at Lakhinarayan Goshala in the Tol Gereki area, drawing the participation of local livestock owners.
Veterinary experts meticulously examined all the cows at the Goshala and provided appropriate treatment to both the sheltered animals and other livestock in the vicinity. The program was inaugurated by Prithviraj Rabha, MLA of Tezpur, who commended the efforts of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Sonitpur for organising the camp.
Dr Binoy Kr. Barman, district veterinary officer of Sonitpur, along with Dr Monica Bordoloi, veterinary officer, played instrumental roles in ensuring the success of the camp. Dr Ranjit Bordoiloi, in-charge head of KVK Sonitpur, warmly welcomed the attending farmers and emphasised the importance of regular healthcare for their animals.
Among the esteemed officials from Krishi Vigyan Kendra present at the health camp were Dinku Borah, subject matter specialist (agronomy), Moonmoon Basumatary, subject matter specialist (plant protection), and Pompy Borah, programme assistant. Additionally, approximately 50 farmers from neighbouring villages actively participated in the program.
