ARGUCOM concludes Deeksharambh 2023 with focus on inclusive & sustainable development

SIVASAGAR, Aug 25: The Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management (ARGUCOM), Sivasagar, successfully concluded the Deeksharambh 2023 program with a special lecture on the topic of ‘Inclusive and Sustainable Development for Self-Reliant India’. The lecture was delivered by Dr Jyoti Prasad Saikia, vice-chancellor of Birangana Sati Sadhani Rajyik Vishwavidyalaya, Golaghat, on Friday.

The session began with the inauguration by vice-chancellor Prof Debabrata Das. In his address, Prof Das emphasised the significance of continuous learning and encouraged students to maintain an open mind for learning from every experience in life. He highlighted the importance of adopting a positive attitude towards their work and the value of the ‘Deeksharambh’ initiative. Prof Das also urged students to uphold integrity and honesty in their future endeavours.

Dr JP Saikia, in his speech, urged students to incorporate three essential elements into their learning process: cognitive learning, critical evaluation, and emotional involvement. He emphasised that these qualities would equip them to contribute to sustainable development, supporting a self-reliant India. Dr Saikia also underscored the importance of expanding their learning beyond the boundaries of their chosen fields.

Dr Rashida T Noorain, registrar, Dr Mridusmita Das, and other faculty members of the University attended the session. The workshop was organised and coordinated by Dr Kuntala Baruah and Ipshita Kaushik. Various activities were designed for the new students of the University as part of the Deeksharambh program, marking an enriching start to their academic journey.
