DEMOW, July 4: On Tuesday, the Artificial Insemination Training Institute at the Intensive Cattle Development Project (ICDP) in Demow, Assam, was inaugurated by Javed Aktar, the additional deputy commissioner of Sivasagar district. The institute has received accreditation from the government of India, department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying in New Delhi. The Assam Livestock Development Agency has directed the institute to commence its training program from July 4, 2023.
During the inauguration, Maitri Classes were introduced at the Artificial Insemination Training Institute in Demow. Additionally, a ceremonial distribution of Sex Sorted Semen, organised by the ICDP Demow in association with the District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Office in Sivasagar, was held. Dr Santanu Changmai, a veterinary doctor, anchored the program, and other notable attendees included Dr Dipak Darabdhara, joint director of Upper Assam of the Animal Husbandry department, Dr Amrit Tamuly, district animal husbandry and veterinary officer in Sivasagar, veterinary doctors, and cattle keepers.
