JORHAT, May 13: Six-year-old Akangkhya Dutta of Teok Dakhin Dulia Gaon in the district has been included in the India Book of Records for her feat in recollecting a large number of things at this tender age.
Akangkhya, a UKG student of Springdale Senior Secondary School here is the daughter of Nabajyoti Dutta and Marami Baruah Dutta.
India Book of Records in a letter of appreciation stated that Akangkhya had been able to answer 201 GK questions, identifying and recalling the names of 95 animals, 51 birds, 30 freedom fighters, 27 famous items of the world and 26 emblems of 26 countries of the world.
Marami Baruah Dutta said that she noticed that Akangkhya had a retentive memory when she was only 11-month old.
“As soon as she could use a smartphone I told her to look up GK questions on YouTube and it started like that. She shows a keen interest in General knowledge,” Dutta said.
Dutta said that she applied for the India Book of Records on March 30 and subsequently sent a video recording of her daughter’s abilities.
The letter of appreciation and certificate was sent through mail and was presented in her school on Friday.
