Assam: Controversy erupts after student allegedly brings beef meat in tiffin at Barpeta school

Barpeta, Nov 8: A school in Assam’s Barpeta district landed in soup after a class 4 student allegedly brought beef meat in his tiffin meal.

As per reports, parents strongly reacted to the incident after a section of students after knowing the matter reported to their guardians. The school Ganakkuchi Adarsh Vidyalaya in Assam’s Barpeta district has courted controverys following this incident after students notified some of the school teachers about the situation and as a result a heated situation prevailed.

Notably, according to government regulations, carrying any type of meat in a Tiffin box is completely forbidden at Adarsh Vidyalayas.

It has also come to light that a number of parents in Ganakkuchi have expressed their worry about the situation and have written to the principal, Abdus Shahid. They also urged an investigation into the event.

The parents from the Hindu community also claimed that the school’s administrator was attempting to cover up the occurrence.

The parents also stated that such events on school grounds would have a negative influence on pupils from other areas.

Meanwhile, a copy of the written complaint presented to the principal has been submitted to the District Commissioner of Barpeta.
