Assam DGP Harmeet Singh visits Bodofa Fwthar to review ABSU conference preparations

KOKRAJHAR, March 9: Assam Director General of Police (DGP) Harmeet Singh on Sunday visited the Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma in Kokrajhar to inspect the preparations for the upcoming 57th Annual Conference of the All Bodo Students Union.

DGP was accompanied by MLA Lawrence Islary, ABSU president Dipen Boro, and other senior police officials, DGP Singh assessed the venue to ensure that all necessary arrangements, particularly security measures, are in place for the high-profile event.

The senior police officer discussed on logistical arrangements, crowd management ensuring the safety of all attendees. The conference is anticipated to draw a significant gathering, making security a key priority.

The four-day ABSU conference, scheduled from March 13 to March 16 would feature a series of events, including sports competitions, educational sessions, and cultural activities.

Union Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan is scheduled to participate on March 14, where he would engage in an interactive session with students.

On the concluding day, Union home minister Amit Shah and Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma are expected to attend the open session.

Meanwhile, the reception committee members are seen busy while preparing for the grand event of the conference across the Bodofa Fwthar.

Several 20 sub-committees of the conference are involved in the conference’s preparation and arrangements to meet a smooth successful of the conference.

A science exhibition, space lab exhibition, flowers exhibition etc are being installed in the conference complex which is expected to attract the visitors in the conference.

During the delegate session, more than 6000 delegate and observers from 22 district committees, unit committees across the country are going to participate in the delegate session.

During the concluding day, the open session would be witnessed by gathering of nearly 2 lakh people from various districts to mark the grand celebration of the conference.

ABSU president Dipen Boro said that necessary preparation and arrangements have been going in full swing to meet a grand success of the event. He said that the reception committee and sub-committees were working dedicatedly towards the completion of the prepration and arrangements. He said that the students union has been emphasizing for bringing a healthy discussion and strategic planning to have a congenial educational environment, social upliftment across the state.
