MARGHERITA, Sept 25: On Saturday, Margherita Excise Circle along with Jagun outpost police force conducted an armed excise raid in Jagun and Hamukjaan areas under Margherita sub-division of Tinsukia district. A naka checking at Namphai, near Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border was conducted under the supervision of Prasanta Dutta, deputy superintendent of Excise, Margherita.

Two cases were detected and approximately 280 litres of fermented wash and 10 litres of illicit distilled liquor were seized and destroyed during the raid.
