GUWAHATI, July 19: Assam, known for its rich biodiversity and natural beauty, is taking a significant step towards enhancing its forest cover and preserving the environment. The state government has initiated a remarkable campaign to plant one crore saplings across various regions, signaling a major stride towards sustainable development.

Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Wednesday, chaired a meeting at Janata Bhawan, where the ambitious tree plantation campaign took center stage. The chief minister actively encouraged enthusiastic individuals to register for the plantation drive and laid out the groundwork for the initiative.
