Tuliram lauds Himanta for the initiative

DIPHU, Nov 1: Under the Assam Micro Finance Incentive and Relief Scheme (AMFIRS), 2021 for category – II, a total of 428 women beneficiaries from Karbi Anglong, who took loans from various microfinance were given relief by the Assam government.
The relief cheques were distributed by HAD minister, Jogen Mohan in presence of chief executive member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang in a ceremonial distribution held at Sarsing Teron (Langkung Habe) Memorial Town Hall here on Tuesday.
The minister addressing the gathering said, “Karbi Anglong is progressing very fast, it has become an important district of the state. Karbi Anglong is no longer a backward district. It has become one among the top. As the Guardian Minister I have nothing to worry about as work is being done. I just have to review the work and make a report to the Chief Minister.”
He further said, “My job is to facilitate the bringing of funds and clear the files as soon as possible. No work will be pending. If files are pending development will suffer.”
The minister said in the third phase, relief will be given by the state government to those who are unable to pay their loans at all.
The CEM of KAAC said the women borrowers who took loans from microfinance and are unable to repay their loans will be given relief by the state government.
The CEM said, “No government has been seen repaying the loans of borrowers, but in Assam under the able leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma a scheme AMFIRS to relieve the loan amount of those women who took loans from microfinance banks. We need to thank our CM for the immense support to women.”
An amount of Rs 12 crore has been given to repay the loans of borrowers, the CEM said.
The meeting was attended by MLAs, Darsing Rongphang and Bidyasing Engleng and executive members and Member of Autonomous Council (MACs) and DC, Karbi Anglong, Madhumita Bhagawati.
