BOKAJAN, May 1:Â Launching an operation on a tip off, the police under Khatkhati police station had achieved another success by recovering heroin.
The police set up a naka checking at Lahorijan and at around 7 am, a truck coming from Manipur bearing registration no. AS-01-JC-2511 was intercepted and on thorough checking a total of 9 soap cases was found. The contraband weighing around 108.97 grams was recovered from the tool box of the vehicle along with a cash amount of Rs. 13,500/-
In this connection the driver of the vehicle has been arrested who has been identified as Thoudam Nongdsmba Meitei (28), son of Thoudam Inaotombi Mangang, resident of Thokchom Mamang Leikai, Yairipok police station, Thoubal district in Manipur.
During preliminary interrogation it was revealed that the consignment was to be delivered in Guwahati.
The naka was set up by i/c Lahorijan SI (UB) Deba Protim Konwar, assisted by SI (UB), Profulla Pegu and staff. All formalities of NDPS are done under the physical supervision of O/c, Bokajan Mowbilk Brahma.
