Assam: Heroin Seized in Bokajan, 2 Arrested

Two drug smugglers have been arrested at Bokajan in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Monday.

Acting on specific information a Naka was set up by OC Dilai SI (UB) Lutfur Rahman, SI (P) Akash Gogoi,ASI Jiten Gogoi, CRPF C20 Camp Bokajan and Dilai PS staff at Dilai Tiniali.

A Tata DI vehicle bearing registration no AS 01 NC 3848 was intercepted.

On being thorough search of the vehicle 16 box soap cases containing 204 grams heroin have been recovered which were concealed inside the door panel of the vehicle.

In this connection following persons have been arrested

1. Faridul Islam (35)
S/O- Lt Tamiz Uddin
vill-Uttar Silpukhuri
PS-Mikirbheta
Dist- Marigaon

2. Ajmir Ali (21)
S/O- Lt Abdul Kuddus
vill- Lengripuri Sariapam
PS- Moirabari
Dist- Marigaon

The drugs were tested using a drug detection kit and the result comes positive for heroin. The seizure was done under the physical supervision of John Das, APS, SDPO Bokajan.
