Assam: Himanta Biswa Sarma launches Logo, Mascot for Khelo India University Games 2024

Guwahati, Feb 8: Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, unveiled the logo and mascot for the Khelo India University Games 2024 in Guwahati.

The mascot, Ashtalakshmi, a vibrant butterfly, represents the biodiversity and cultural heritage of Northeast India.

Among those present were Nisith Pramanik, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and several sports figures from the Northeast. CM Sarma highlighted Assam’s role as a sports destination and its commitment to youth development.

The games will feature 16 disciplines, hosted by Assam, while the remaining Northeastern states will host four events.
