Assam: Journalist among several others killed in horrific road accidents across the state on December 30

Guwahati, Dec 30: Several fatalities and injuries were reported across Assam due to road accidents amidst New Year celebrations on Saturday.

In Dharapur, Guwahati, a journalist named Partha Pratim Das residing in Mirza lost his life, and three others were critically injured when a speeding dumper truck collided with an Alto car.

The injured are reportedly being treated at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. In another incident in Borongabari, Gohpur, a bike rider, identified as Fatik Hazarika, was killed when a four-wheeler hit him from behind.

In Dhubri’s Pukalagi, another accident resulted in the death of a man named Rafiqul Islam and injured a woman named Arjina Bibi when their scooty collided with a truck. A man named Nur Kalam lost his life on National Highway 37 in Tezpur while trying to save a pedestrian.
