Assam: One Held With Several Lakhs Of Fake Indian Currencies At Nagaon

NAGAON, April 10: Nagaon police arrested one Atikul Islam of No 2 Islampur under Bihpuria PS on charges of trading with fake Indian currency from Nagaon Dhing gate area on Friday night.

Subsequently, based on his statement, police conducted a raid at the rented house of one Ajijur Rahman at Nagaon Katimari area where the police team recovered printed bundles of 500 denomination fake notes of worth several lakhs, printing machine, printing materials, plain papers, 4 numbers of original Rs 500 notes, a pulsar bike, one Bolero and one alto car from the house, sources added.

Sources claimed that the house dwellers were found absconding when police personnel carried out the raid.

Police registered a case in this regard, sources said further.
