In Assam’s Cachar district, Assam Rifles, working alongside Cachar Police, intercepted a scooty near Nilam Bazaar and detained a man from Karimganj. Authorities recovered 20,000 Yaba tablets from the suspect, valued at ₹6 crore. The operation also yielded the two mobile phones and the scooty used in the transit of the drugs. Officials described the seizure as a major blow to local trafficking networks.

Separately, Assam Rifles averted a potential explosive hazard in Manipur’s Jiribam district. Acting on intelligence, troops conducted a search in Makha Basti and recovered two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), each weighing 12 kilograms, along with electric detonators and 12 metres of detonation cord. The Bomb Disposal Team carried out controlled detonations at the site, preventing any civilian harm amid ongoing unrest in the state.

These operations underscore the continued vigilance of security forces against both drug and insurgent threats in the region.
