Assam Sahitya Sabha felicitates distinction & star mark holders

HOJAI, June 5: 
In a bid to encourage the students, like every year, Hojai unit of Asam Sahitya Sabha felicitated students of High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2023 who brought laurels to Hojai.

The day-long felicitation programme was organised at Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbarua Bhawan in Newmarket in Hojai on Sunday. Notably, 62 distinction marks holders and 163 star marks holders of HSLC Examination were felicitated.

Dr Sarath Barkatki, principal, Nagaon College graced the occasion as chief guest, local legislator Ramkrishna Ghosh, Dr Sardananda Dev Goswami, ex-lecturer and writer, Gopi Kanta Das, senior teacher, Don Bosco High School, Anup Deb, district president, BJP, Dayal Chandra Kro, president, Hojai unit of Asam Sahitya Sabha, Hargovind Kalita, secretary and many other dignitaries were also present on the dais.

The entire function was moderated by Anup Kumar Barthakur, noted social worker and a dedicated member of Asam Sahitya Sabha.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sarath Barkatki said, “Education is a continuous process, one can never stop learning, there should be curiosity to learn always.”

He further said that matriculation is the first step and opportunities are waiting for the students but they have to be consistent, disciplined and dedicated, then only they can soar higher in life.
The students were presented with plant saplings, xorai, phulam gamosa and certificates.
