Dispur, May 5: A shocking theft took place at Baghbor MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed’s PSO’s room within the MLA hostel complex in Dispur, Guwahati on Sunday. The theft occurred in the room of Sherman Ali’s PSO, Anowar Hussain.
Anowar Hussain has lodged an FIR at the Dispur Police Station. The FIR states that on the day of the theft, he and his colleague Abul Kalam Azad were on official duty in Bilasipara, Dhubri with Sherman Ali.

He received a phone call from the MLA’s driver, notifying him that the lock on the PSO room door was broken, with the door ajar, raising suspicion of theft. Various items, both official and personal, have been reported missing from the PSO’s room.
The two PSOs have asked the police to investigate and take stringent action against the culprits. According to reports, items stolen include Anowar Hussain’s magazine, uniform, Rs 16,000 in cash, and a credit card. The Dispur Police have arrived at the scene and an investigation is underway.
