NAGAON, Jan 9: In the 10th Asian Yogasana Championship held in Singapore from January 6 to 8, two yogis from Assam, Dishna JR Chanda and Udita Rani Bora, won medals for the Indian team.
Dishna JR Chanda won a gold medal in the Yogasana competition, a gold medal in the Free Flow Yogasana, a silver medal in the Artistic Yogasana, and a bronze medal in the Artistic Pair Yogasana.
Similarly, Udita Rani Bora won a gold medal in the Yogasana competition, a bronze medal in the Artistic Pair Yogasana, and a silver medal in the Rhythmic Yogasana.
Another Assamese yogi, Jayarani Deka, secured the sixth position in the competition, bringing pride to the state.
It’s worth mentioning that Udita Rani Bora had also won a silver medal in the 8th Asian Yogasana Championship held in Kerala in 2018.
The 10th Asian Yogasana Championship was organised by the Asian Yoga Federation and saw participation from 15 countries.
The Indian team’s performance in the championship was impressive, with Assam’s yogis making significant contributions to the team’s medal tally.
