Assamese poet Abhijeet Gogoi shines at International Writers’ Meet

GUWAHATI, Nov 27: Sahitya Akademi Young Authors Travel Grant recipient poet Abhijeet Gogoi recently represented Assam and the Assamese language as a guest young poet at the International Writers’ Meet organised by Byatikram, held at the conference hall of Cotton University. He said, “Since Assamese language has been recognised as a classical language, such links are relevant and important for Assamese literature and poetry, along with various subjects and experiences, as well as the field of translation.”

The poetry session was attended by Tendo Taijin from Japan, Kieu Bich Hau, Cao Thi Hong from Vietnam, Alexandra Nicod from Switzerland, Jorge Contreras Herrera, Jorge Antonio García Pérez from Mexico, Hussein Habasch from Germany, Ahmad Al Shahawy, Dr Sara Hamid Hawass from Egypt, Miodrag Jaksic from Serbia, and other state delegates. It is to be noted that Abhijeet Gogoi’s poetry has been selected for publication in the famous journal ‘Indian Literature’.
