Atul Bora reviews damages caused by flood in Nagaon

NAGAON, July 26: The State Agriculture minister Atul Bora visited Nagaon and held a review meeting over the residential damages caused by the recent two waves of flood in the district with the officials of district administration, Disaster Management Authority, Nagaon and other circle officers of Nagaon, Kampur and Raha revenue circles respectively at DC conference hall on Monday afternoon.
During the meeting, the minister also took stock from the officials concerned about the ground reports gathered by the officials of verification units which were being deployed to carry out the random spot verification of residential damages in the district.
While addressing the local media persons right after the review meeting here, the minister said that the officials of the concerned circles, initially carried out a survey in which the officials confirmed damages over 15,000 residential houses in the district and as per directives, the government targeted to conduct a random spot verification at only 20 percent of those total damaged houses.
Over 25 units, consisting of 4 officials in each unit carried out the random spot verification in the district during a week last and in the verification, the verification team spotted damages over 3050 houses (20 percent) in the district, he added further.
