Australian delegation meets Dibrugarh administration to discuss development

DIBRUGARH, Feb 14: A three-member delegation from the Australian High Commission in New Delhi visited Dibrugarh on Friday to engage in crucial discussions with the district administration to explore areas of mutual interest and potential collaboration.

The delegation, which included Stuart Shaw (Minister-Counsellor (Management) and Consul General, New Delhi), Travis O’Rourke (Regional Security Officer, New Delhi), and Tony Pobjie (Regional Consular Officer, New Delhi), participated in an important meeting chaired by District Commissioner (DC) Bikram Kairi.

The discussions focused on various aspects of the district, including social structure, development, industries, trade, and tourism.

“This meeting marks the beginning of a new chapter in cooperation. Various important topics were discussed, ranging from industries and commerce to tourism, social systems, and overall development in the district. We look forward to implementing innovative solutions and sharing best practices in various sectors to drive sustainable development in our district. By working together, we can achieve common goals and create opportunities for economic growth and social progress,” a district official said.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing their commitment to strengthening ties and exploring further areas of collaboration in the future.

District Superintendent of Police VV Rakesh Reddy, additional district commissioners Nandita Baruah and Sanghamitra Baruah, and election officer Pranjil Gogoi were also present at the meeting.
