KOKRAJHAR, Dec 1: Bijit Gara Narzary, BJP MCLA from Darangajuli constituency in Tamulpur district, was unanimously elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) on Monday. The announcement came during the ongoing Winter Session of the BTC Legislative Assembly, held at the BTCLA Hall, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar.
The BPF-led BTC government also declared the six nominated MCLAs representing unrepresented communities in the BTCLA. The nominated members are Karmeswar Ray, Nandalal Magar, Ridip Kumar Deka, Ratan Chandra Rabha, Hemoprabha Devi and Ajay Kumar Hazarika. Hagrama Mohilary-led BTC government had earlier formed the administration on October 5, 2025, securing a majority with 28 seats out of the 40-member BTCLA house.
