Bimal Borah launches cleanliness drive in Tingkhang, urges citizen participation

GUWAHATI, Oct 15: Assam Minister of Industries, Commerce, and Public Enterprises, Bimal Borah has launched a special cleanliness drive under the banner “Cleanliness Campaign: Prosperous Tingkhang, Clean Environment” in the Tingkhang constituency, the Minister announced on Tuesday.

Aimed at creating a healthier and cleaner environment, the initiative has encouraged active participation from local residents.

In a post shared on the micro-blogging site X, Borah emphasized the importance of community involvement in keeping the environment clean and safe.

He wrote, “To keep our environment healthy and clean, a special cleanliness drive has started in Tingkhang constituency. With your active participation, a clean and secure Tingkhang will emerge.”

Additionally, the Minister, who was seen personally participating in the cleaning activities with a broom, urged people to join the Swachhata Abhiyan and work together as responsible citizens.

“Join the #SwachhtaAbhiyan! Let’s unite as responsible citizens and take action to ensure our environment is not only healthy but also vibrant and beautiful!”, he added.

Furthermore, the campaign sought to raise awareness and inspire local citizens to take collective responsibility for the upkeep of their surroundings, encouraging a prosperous and clean environment for future generations.
