Bodoland Mohotsov at SAI Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi

KOKRAJHAR, Nov 14: The first-ever Bodoland Mohotsov, a mega event, is commencing on Friday with a two-day program scheduled to be held at the SAI Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.

The event is organised under the theme ‘Ethos of Peace and Harmony: An Integral Part of Nation Building’ by the All Bodo Students Union, Bodo Sahitya Sabha, and Dularai Bodo Harimu Afad, in association with the government of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

The event coincides with the 73rd foundation day celebration of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (Bodo Thunlai Saan) on Saturday.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, will grace the occasion as the chief guest on Friday evening in the august presence of dignitaries from various fields across the country.

During the event, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union cabinet ministers Dr Dharmendra Pradhan and Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union minister of state Pabitra Margherita, CEM of BTR Pramod Boro, and Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma will attend as guests.

Nearly five thousand people from different states, including the Bodoland Territorial Region and Assam, are expected to participate in the event.

A multicultural performance, exhibitions, rallies, seminars, and open discussions are planned for the event.

The necessary preparations and arrangements were completed this evening to host the event.

ABSU president Dipen Boro stated that the Bodoland Mohotsov is being organised in New Delhi to promote the upliftment and development of the Bodo language, literature, and culture across the country. He informed that all arrangements and preparations are fully completed, and more than five thousand people are expected to participate grandly.

He said the event will emphasise peace and tranquility among citizens across the Bodoland region and the state of Assam as a whole.

“The event will commemorate the restoration of peace following the historic signing of the third Bodo Peace Accord on January 27, 2020, which established the Bodoland Territorial Region,” he said.
