KOKRAJHAR, July 10: A comprehensive orientation programme was organised on Monday at the BTCLA Auditorium Hall to enhance the understanding of parliamentary procedures among the members of the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA).
The programme was attended by all elected members of the BTCLA and senior officials from the government of Bodoland Territorial Region. Dignitaries including Biswajit Daimary, Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly; Pramod Boro, CEM (BTR); Gabinda Chandra Basumatary, deputy CEM; Katiram Boro, BTCLA Speaker; and MLA Bhuban Pegu addressed the programme.
The initiative was undertaken by the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly to bring all BTCLA members together and enhance their understanding of parliamentary procedures, with a special focus on the role of members within the Bodoland Territorial Council.
CEM Boro highlighted the significance of the orientation programme, stating that it was essential to provide well-rounded orientation events for the elected members of the legislative assembly in BTC. He commended the initiative and expressed hope that the programme would prove beneficial for the members of the BTCLA.
The objective of the programme was to foster a deeper understanding of parliamentary procedures and the responsibilities of BTCLA members. CEM Boro expressed his satisfaction in witnessing such an enriching experience and addressing the gathering of BTCLA members.
The orientation programme aimed to equip the BTCLA members with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill their roles effectively within the legislative assembly. It is an important step towards ensuring a well-informed and competent assembly that can contribute to the progress and development of the Bodoland Territorial Region.
