BTR Government to celebrate 5th Bodo Peace Accord Day

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 23: The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) will commemorate the 5th grand celebration of the Bodo Peace Accord with a two-day event on January 27 and 28, 2025, in Kokrajhar.

Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, will grace the momentous occasion as the chief guest on January 28 at Green Field, Kokrajhar.

The event will also witness the presence of BTR Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro, along with other prominent leaders, dignitaries, government officials, and distinguished guests.

As part of the celebrations, the Bodoland Achievers’ Award Ceremony will take place on January 27 at the Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar.

A total of 85 departmental and 56 non-departmental achievers will be honoured at the ceremony.

This special event, organised as an integral part of the Bodo Accord Day celebration, aims to recognise and honour individuals who have made significant contributions to the progress and development of the Bodoland Territorial Region.

The celebration aims to commemorate the historic Bodo Peace Accord, which was signed in 2020, bringing lasting peace and development to the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

The accord marked a significant milestone in addressing long-standing issues and ushering in harmony and prosperity in the region.
