GUWAHATI, Oct 6: In a major push for financial inclusion and women’s empowerment, the Cachar District Administration is set to launch Orunodoi 3.0 across 1,575 venues today at 10:30 AM. The event will coincide with the statewide rollout of the Government of Assam’s flagship welfare scheme.

A total of 1, 81,438 eligible beneficiaries across 19 administrative blocks will receive the first month’s assistance of Rs 1,250 directly in their bank accounts. Each venue will broadcast the central programme live, and beneficiaries have been asked to attend their respective centres to witness and participate in the launch.

To ensure a smooth rollout, the district administration has deputed LAC-wise and Block/ULB-wise Nodal Officers. Arrangements for drinking water, uninterrupted electricity, mobile medical units, and law enforcement have been put in place. The Superintendent of Police, Cachar, has been requested to deploy mobile police teams to maintain law and order.

Final verification of beneficiary data has been completed, reflecting the administration’s commitment to transparency. As of October 4, 2025, Silchar Municipal Corporation has the highest number of beneficiaries at 29,192, followed by Udharbond (14,367), Borkhola (12,991), Kalain (12,489), Dholai–Narsingpur (12,121), and others across the district.

Smaller blocks such as Sonai Municipal Board (2,563), Badarpur Municipal Board (2,740), and Lakhipur Municipal Board (714) also form part of the rollout. The final verified figure of 1, 81,438, down from the initially frozen data of 1, 83,008, reflects a targeted effort to eliminate duplication and include only genuine beneficiaries.

District Commissioner Mridul Yadav, IAS, said the launch marks more than just a policy implementation—it is a celebration of empowerment. “Orunodoi 3.0 embodies the compassionate vision of the Chief Minister, ensuring that benefits reach directly to the most deserving—the women and families who are the backbone of our society. Every effort has been made to make this rollout smooth, transparent, and inclusive,” he said.

He added that all ground-level arrangements have been completed to ensure the launch is successful and impactful. “This is not just the implementation of a government scheme—it is a collective celebration of empowerment and public service,” he said.

The launch of Orunodoi 3.0 is seen as a milestone in Assam’s journey toward inclusive growth, clean governance, and people-centric administration, ensuring timely and transparent delivery of support to every eligible household.
