TEZPUR, Oct 17: The District Employment Exchange, Tezpur, organised a District Level Career Counselling Programme on Friday at the ITI campus, Tezpur. The event was held under the Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department, Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training, Assam and the National Career Service (NCS) Project of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.
The programme brought together students, educators, and dignitaries, including Tezpur MLA Prithiraj Rava, District Commissioner Anand Kumar Das and Hifzur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Central Assam Zone.
In his opening speech, MLA Prithiraj Rava stressed the importance of mental strength in achieving one’s goals, while DC Anand Kumar Das encouraged students to focus on self-discovery and choose careers that align with their strengths.
Counselling sessions were chaired by Prankrishna Tamooli Director of NIELIT Tezpur, Micheal Handique HR from Patanjali Ayurved and Santanu Shekhar Saikia Young Professional under the NCS Project. The sessions focused on career planning, upskilling and exploring employment avenues. Santanu Saikia also highlighted the role of Employment Exchanges and the NCS Project in making job opportunities accessible to the youth.
The programme reflects the commitment of the District Employment Exchange and Model Career Centre, Tezpur, to support youth in making informed career decisions and building a skilled workforce in Assam. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Churnika Das, AEO i/c Assistant Director, District Employment Exchange (MCC), Tezpur.
