HAMREN, Jan 9: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang inaugurated four school buildings under Vidya Bharati Kalyan Ashram constructed in different parts of West Karbi Anglong district.
The inauguration programme was held on Thursday at the ground premises of Umchoa Lalung ME School.
The four schools inaugurated by CEM Ronghang are Umchoa Balakhang Vidya Niketan Umchobai; Shankardev Bidya Niketan in Kheyabad; Sankardev Shihu Niketan in Borthal and Barmarjang Sankardev Shihu Niketan, Dwar Amla.
CEM Ronghang said that KAAC is giving financial assistance to preserve the art and culture of all ethnic groups living in Karbi Anglong.
Ronghang further requested cooperation from all quarters to implement Article 244 (A) of the long-standing political issue in the hills of Assam.
The meeting was attended by the executive members of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, D Uphing Maslai and Prabhat Chandra Taro; MLAs Bidya Sing Engleng and Rup Sing Teron; West Karbi Anglong commissioner, Saranga Pani Sharma and others.
