DIPHU, July 3: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang, inaugurated the coaching classes for the second batch of aspirants preparing for the UPSC/APSC competitive examination 2023-24. The inauguration took place at Poultry Farm, Lumding Road on Monday.
The UPSC/APSC Coaching Centre was established last year in 2023, with the aim of providing free coaching sponsored by KAAC for aspiring candidates of the UPSC/APSC examination.
The coaching centre is managed by Unified Foundation, Guwahati, and the first batch consisted of 100 students, with 29 students successfully cracking the APSC preliminary exams.
During the inauguration, CEM Tuliram Ronghang announced that students who clear the UPSC prelims examination will be rewarded with Rs 5 lakhs, and those who pass the mains examination and viva voce will receive a reward of Rs 10 lakhs. He encouraged the students to seize this opportunity and expressed his confidence in the potential of the aspirants, stating that he believes there will be future IAS and ACS officers among them.
CEM Ronghang also mentioned that he was an Executive Member (EM) of KAAC’s education department when the Coaching Centre was established. He acknowledged the contributions of JI Kathar as the director, and emphasized that the initiative is supported by the KAAC, with honorariums provided through the CEM’s sponsorship.
Dr Zafreen Mehjabin, director of Unified Foundation, informed that in the first batch, 29 candidates appeared for the APSC preliminary exams, and the second batch comprises 100 students.
The program was attended by MLAs Bidyasing Engleng and Darsing Ronghang, as well as EMs and Members of the Autonomous Council.
